Job Requirements

  • completion of high school or equivalent
  • four years experience in quantity cooking with three years at Cook E6 level or two years at Cook 7 level
  • ability to prepare reports and supervise employees
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • ability to maintain inventories and requisition supplies
  • compliance with ethical standards and public employment requirements

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • experience overseeing quantity cooking and food preparation tasks
  • knowledge of nutritional standards and food safety practices
  • ability to supervise and train staff
  • proficiency in food service equipment operation
  • strong communication and organizational skills

Job Duties

  • direct the work of subordinate food service staff during shifts
  • oversee preparation and serving of three meals daily including therapeutic diets
  • train and supervise subordinate cooks and domestic aids
  • ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and fire safety standards
  • collaborate with Food Services Manager on staffing, inventory, and cost control
  • maintain high standards of food quality
  • prepare work reports and maintain inventories
