Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or its equivalent
  • Prior experience is beneficial
  • Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily
  • Willingness to undergo a criminal history check
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Capacity to stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear for extended periods
  • Capability to use hands and arms effectively
  • Ability to maintain close, distance, color vision and depth perception
  • Willingness to work the 12:30 PM to 8:30 PM shift

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in food service supervision or related field
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen equipment maintenance
  • Ability to supervise and motivate inmate workers
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to adapt to and enforce institutional policies
  • Capability to conduct in-service training sessions

Job Duties

  • Supervise inmate kitchen workers during meal preparation and cooking
  • Coordinate preparation of breakfast, lunch, and dinner meals
  • Ensure all meals meet established standards of preparation, presentation, and sanitation
  • Enforce sanitation standards and maintain kitchen cleanliness
  • Motivate and direct inmate workers to complete daily meal periods without incident while maintaining institutional security
  • Maintain kitchen equipment in good working order and oversee proper use and repair
  • Adapt activities according to Facility Standing Operating Procedures (S.O.P.) and manage unusual events during meal preparation
