Job Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in food service management, nutrition, or a related area
- Considerable supervisory experience with the operation of a large-scale food preparation program
- Ability to comply with federal regulations and state nutrition guidelines
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Effective communication and training capabilities
- Capacity to assess and manage food service operations
- Willingness to perform related duties as assigned
Job Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in food service management, nutrition, or a related area
- Considerable supervisory experience with the operation of a large-scale food preparation program
- Knowledge of federal and state nutrition guidelines and school board policies
- Experience providing technical assistance and training to managers and staff
- Skills in personnel management including coaching, counseling and performance documentation
- Ability to develop menus compliant with nutritional standards
- Familiarity with food service equipment and proper usage
Job Duties
- Supervises and monitors the national School Lunch and Breakfast Programs in compliance with federal regulations, state nutrition guidelines and school board policies
- Responsible for the supervision, training and management of all cafeteria operations
- Provides technical assistance to food service managers regarding the efficiency of operation, meal and cash accountability, financial status, food production and service and compliance with federal and state regulations
- Serves as technical advisor to food service managers with personnel management
- Assists with coaching and counseling employees and provides training when needed to improve job performance
- Assists managers with documenting employee concerns and writing annual performance appraisals as needed
- Assists in the development of menus that comply with federal and state nutritional guidelines
- Assesses adequacy and condition of equipment and provides information as to proper use of equipment
- Performs related duties as required or assigned
