Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in food service or kitchen management
  • ability to work 40 hours per week
  • availability for part summer layoff period

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Supervise nutrition team at Riverside center
  • cooperate with classroom staff on food planning
  • prepare daily breakfast, lunch, and snacks
  • maintain clean and sanitary kitchen facilities
  • manage safe storage of food
  • conduct weekly and daily food purchases
  • prepare food for meetings and events
  • coordinate food for field trips
  • receive and verify vendor orders
  • order and pick up supplies
  • maintain accurate records including budget and expenditures
  • submit records weekly
  • post and implement special diets
  • develop menus with nutrition team
  • approve timecards and manage staff requests
  • provide feedback, training, evaluations, and disciplinary actions
  • ensure compliance with policies and procedures
  • utilize information systems for reporting
  • complete USDA tracking
  • maintain confidentiality of records
  • compile data for Nutrition Coordinator
  • cooperate in delivering nutrition education
  • involve parents in food program
  • attend program meetings
  • comply with code of conduct and confidentiality policies
  • contribute positively as a team member
  • perform other duties as assigned
