Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED
  • three years of food service or nutrition experience
  • state or county food handler card
  • must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • ability to stand and walk continuously, lift/carry/push/pull 1-10 pounds frequently
  • ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb stairs often and lift/carry/push/pull 11-25 pounds
  • occasionally lift/carry/push/pull 25-50 pounds
  • use clear and audible speaking voice and hear normal speech
  • must be able to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays
  • comply with all applicable laws and regulations
  • act ethically and maintain confidentiality
  • able to handle frequent interruptions and fast-paced work environment

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or GED
  • three years of food service or nutrition experience
  • state or county food handler card
  • hospitality, business, nutrition, or related education preferred
  • ServSafe Manager Certification preferred
  • management, leadership, customer service, or supervisor experience preferred

Job Duties

  • provides daily oversight and support to frontline caregiver tasks throughout food service department
  • follows up with caregivers daily to make certain that all work is completed and signed off for quality documentation
  • acts as person in charge (PIC) in the absence of food services manager and supervisors
  • cross-trained throughout the department to assist working stations as needed
  • performs special assignments including food production, customer service, room service, catering, cafe, and event management
  • communicates direction, guidance and assignments to other caregivers
  • orders, organizes, and properly stores equipment and supplies
  • works freight by putting away supplies and maintaining stockroom cleanliness and organization
  • communicates with facilities services regarding unsafe or broken equipment
  • collaborates with supervisor on monthly and daily staffing including daily assignment of location, work, side work and extra duties
  • demonstrates effective communication, organization, and management of assigned work
  • works independently and with the team in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions
  • assists with scheduling, training, and orientation of new caregivers
  • provides ongoing training and mentorship to ensure caregivers maintain competencies
  • performs office procedures, record and data management, phones, reception, filing, and correspondence
  • resolves scheduling issues as directed
  • supports vision, mission, and values of the organization
  • supports lean principles of continuous improvement
  • provides and maintains a safe environment for caregivers, patients and guests
  • conducts all activities with professionalism and confidentiality
  • complies with laws, regulations, policies and procedures
  • delivers customer service and patient care to promote goodwill
  • may perform additional duties of similar complexity as assigned
