Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Minimum one year experience in restaurant or hospital waiter/waitress role preferred
- Allergen Awareness Certification from VA State required within 180 days
- Food Handlers Card or Food Protection Manager Certification from VA State required within 30 days
- Ability to follow hospital policies and infection control procedures
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks efficiently
Job Qualifications

- Competence in customer service and communication skills
- Ability to operate POS systems and software relevant to the role
Job Duties
- Follows standard service protocols as outlined in the Guest Service Training manual
- Supports the Food & Nutrition Service department and clinical teams in providing excellent patient, guest, and team member service
- Responsible for assisting in the food tray make-up area by starting, assembling, and/or checking and loading completed patient food trays
- Delivers patient trays to patient bedside and/or nursing units within established time limits
- Demonstrates competence to complete cold food prep and assembly assignments as well as preparation of handcrafted specialty coffee/teas
- Stocks put away and rotated to ensure FIFO in a timely manner without expired stock
- Uses Room Service software when assisting patients with telephone call backs or personal visitation
- Operates the POS cash register, takes money, makes change, and provides customer service in retail
- Demonstrates ability to use time effectively and aids other workers during heavy workload
- Assists in maintaining food cost through accuracy of recording meal orders and tray delivery
