Job Requirements
- Completion of twelfth grade or equivalent
- Some paid or volunteer experience in food serving and preparation desirable
- Demonstrated dependability and cleanliness
- Good health and willingness to work
- Free from communicable disease
- Food handler's certificate to be obtained at time of appointment
- Ability to lift and transport food items
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Basic math and English skills
- Ability to follow instructions
- Ability to maintain cooperative relationships
Job Qualifications
- Knowledge of basic methods and materials used in fast food preparation, serving and transporting of food
- Knowledge of food preparation methods such as washing, cutting, assembling and wrapping foods or ingredients
- Knowledge of basic food serving utensils and equipment
- Understanding of basic sanitation and safety procedures related to food preparation and serving
- Basic written and oral English skills
- Basic math skills
- Ability to lift and transport quantities of food or ingredients
- Ability to stand for sustained periods and work efficiently during rush conditions
- Ability to count, add, subtract and tally series of numbers
- Ability to keep simple records
- Ability to make change quickly and accurately
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions
- Ability to maintain cooperative relationships with coworkers
Job Duties
- Assist in the preparation, packaging and serving of food
- Wash dishes and kitchen equipment
- Assist in requisitioning, receiving and storage of foods and supplies
- Assist in maintaining proper care of equipment and sanitation of the kitchen
- Act as cashier, collecting money, making change and counting totals
- Participate in District in-service programs
