Job Requirements
- food handler's certificate issued by the county health department
- equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade
- some paid or volunteer experience in serving and preparation of foods is desirable
- demonstrate dependability and cleanliness
- good health and willingness to work
- free from communicable disease
- ability to lift and transport quantities of food or ingredients
- ability to stand for sustained periods of time
Job Qualifications
- equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade
- knowledge of basic methods and materials used in fast food preparation, serving and transporting of food
- knowledge of food preparation methods such as washing, cutting, assembling and wrapping foods or ingredients
- knowledge of basic food serving utensils and equipment
- knowledge of basic sanitation and safety procedures related to the preparation and serving of food
- ability to lift and transport quantities of food or ingredients
- ability to stand for sustained periods of time and work efficiently during rush conditions
- ability to count, add, subtract and tally series of numbers
- ability to keep simple records and make change quickly and accurately
- ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions
- ability to maintain cooperative relationships
Job Duties
- assists in the preparation, packaging and serving of food
- washes dishes and kitchen equipment
- assists in requisitioning, receiving and storage of foods and supplies
- assists in maintaining proper care of equipment and sanitation of the kitchen
- may act as cashier, collecting money, making change and counting totals
- participates in district in-service programs
