Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • experience in a food service environment or large service establishment preferred
  • Food Handlers Permit accredited by Texas Department of State Health Services or American National Standards Institute
  • ability to safely perform assigned job duties demonstrated through skills assessments
  • proficiency in English language
  • working knowledge of Serve Safe guidelines and health department standards
  • knowledge of food service equipment and sanitation principles
  • effective communication skills
  • active listening skills
  • ability to operate kitchen equipment safely

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • experience in a food service or large service establishment preferred

  • sufficient proficiency in English for reading, writing, and speaking
  • knowledge of Serve Safe guidelines and health department standards

Job Duties

  • Assist in tray assembly for patients
  • perform simple food preparation
  • serve customers
  • replenish stations
  • transport food carts to and from kitchen areas and patient care units or conference rooms
  • perform dishwashing duties
  • communicate hazards and safety concerns with management
  • follow cleaning and sanitation procedures
  • maintain food cart delivery log
  • ensure food presentation and temperature standards
  • deliver trays accurately and timely
  • assemble trays on tray line as needed
  • maintain clean storage areas
  • retrieve soiled trays and return carts promptly
  • stock supplies for patient tray line during each meal period
  • minimize food waste through proper portion control
  • utilize resources cost-effectively
  • contribute new ideas to improve quality or service
  • participate in self-development and career planning
