Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- prior experience in food service or related field preferred
- ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to safety and sanitation regulations
- ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
- reliable and punctual
- ability to work day shift part-time
- ability to pass national and state background checks as required by state law
Job Qualifications
- Ability to operate a cash register and reconcile receipts and reports
- knowledge of the usage of food preparation equipment
- ability to understand and follow recipes, equipment instructions and sanitation procedures
- knowledge of food handling and preparation
- knowledge of health and sanitation rules
Job Duties
- Prepares, heats and finishes cooking food items
- serves customers
- receives and disburses money in a food service establishment
- cleans work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, and silverware
- cleans, peels, slices and trims foodstuffs using manual and electric appliances
- conducts or assists with food supply requisitions and sanitation and maintenance inspections
- observes safety, sanitation and health rules and standards
- portions food or places it directly on plates for service to facility residents, employees or patrons and packages takeout foods
- prepares foods
- receives payment for food items
- replenishes supplies of food, condiments, and equipment at steam tables and service bars
- stores food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage
- takes customers' orders and serves customers
- unpacks and stores supplies, raw and prepared food products
