Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • prior experience in food service or related field preferred
  • ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to safety and sanitation regulations
  • ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
  • reliable and punctual
  • ability to work day shift part-time
  • ability to pass national and state background checks as required by state law

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to operate a cash register and reconcile receipts and reports
  • knowledge of the usage of food preparation equipment
  • ability to understand and follow recipes, equipment instructions and sanitation procedures
  • knowledge of food handling and preparation
  • knowledge of health and sanitation rules

Job Duties

  • Prepares, heats and finishes cooking food items
  • serves customers
  • receives and disburses money in a food service establishment
  • cleans work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, and silverware
  • cleans, peels, slices and trims foodstuffs using manual and electric appliances
  • conducts or assists with food supply requisitions and sanitation and maintenance inspections
  • observes safety, sanitation and health rules and standards
  • portions food or places it directly on plates for service to facility residents, employees or patrons and packages takeout foods
  • prepares foods
  • receives payment for food items
  • replenishes supplies of food, condiments, and equipment at steam tables and service bars
  • stores food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage
  • takes customers' orders and serves customers
  • unpacks and stores supplies, raw and prepared food products
