Job Requirements
- Previous food service experience preferred
- Cash handling experience preferred
- Ability to work part-time with flexible scheduling including weekends
- Must maintain sanitation and safety standards
- Ability to stand for extended periods and carry food trays
- Must be able to interact politely with customers
- Available to work at CSU Monterey Bay location
- Must comply with company policies and procedures
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in food service preferred
- Prior cash handling experience in a fast-paced environment preferred
- Ability to follow food safety and sanitation standards
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Capability to work flexible hours including weekends
- Basic math skills for handling transactions
- Ability to work effectively in a team
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
Job Duties
- Perform prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting and seeding fruits and vegetables
- Weigh and measure designated ingredients
- Carry pans, kettles and trays of food to and from work stations, stove and refrigerator in accordance with safety standards
- Distribute supplies, utensils and portable equipment
- Store foods in designated areas following wrapping, dating, and food safety and rotation procedures
- Clean work areas, equipment and utensils
- Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety requirements
- Use approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and portion control
- Serve customers in a friendly and efficient manner following outlined steps of service
- Interact with customers and resolve complaints in a service-oriented manner
- Relay relevant information to supervisor
- Perform sales transactions
- Enter sales into cash register accurately
- Make change and accept various payment forms
- Issue receipts to customers
- Follow procedures for issuing cash refunds
- Manage assigned change funds and cash receipts ensuring cash drawer compliance
- Replenish condiments, beverages and general supplies maintaining service area cleanliness
- Perform other duties as assigned
