Job Requirements
- Experience working in a commercial kitchen environment
- experience preparing meals for hundreds of people at one time
- highly organized and professional
- self-motivated with the able to multi-task
- ability to work well with others in a summer camp environment
- ability to work in a hot, humid and fast-paced workplace
- successful completion of background screening
- acquire and maintain the following certifications within 30 days of hire date via YMCA, American Red Cross, American Heart Association and American Health and Safety Institute (ASHI): First Aid/CPR/AED (valid 2 years unless otherwise noted)
- requisite Redwoods Online Training Modules (completed prior to start date and repeated annually)
- must have physical, visual and auditory ability to perform essential functions
- perform physical skills including bending, lifting, squatting, reaching, standing, walking
- willing to work nontraditional hours
- lifting heavy boxes, containers of food, and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs
- standing for extended periods
- extended exposure to kitchen heat and humidity
- safe handling of kitchen equipment including sharp knives

Job Duties
- Prepare food served using established production procedures and systems
- assist with presentation of food and service as directed
- comply with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and health standards
- demonstrate proper food preparation and handling techniques
- assist in proper storage of food within standards
- report necessary equipment repair and maintenance to supervisor
- clean dining area and kitchen including proper washing and sterilization of all dishes and food preparation surfaces
