Job Description

Job Requirements

  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent
  • must have experience in food service operation and supervision
  • must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45 lbs independently and over 45 lbs with assistance
  • must be able to obtain and maintain proper food safety and sanitation certification
  • must be able to communicate effectively in English
  • must be authorized to work in the United States
  • willingness to undergo and pass a Tier 1 level background check investigation
  • must agree to direct deposit of net pay
  • must comply with drug-free workplace policies

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledgeable in operation of a food activity
  • experience in food preparation, presentation, and food service operations
  • basic skills in business administration, scheduling, accounting, policies, and performance standards
  • ability to communicate clear instructions to workers
  • knowledge and skill to evaluate raw and cooked food items
  • understanding of food spoilage, food borne illness, and food safety
  • ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • skill to supervise employees
  • ability to successfully complete and maintain food safety and sanitation certification

Job Duties

  • Supervises assigned personnel
  • establishes and approves work schedules
  • assigns work
  • trains and counsels employees
  • approves or disapproves leave
  • recommends commendatory or disciplinary actions
  • resolves employee problems
  • performs administrative work directing operations of the school cafeteria ensuring compliance with USDA and other federal, state and local regulations
  • provides ongoing evaluation of program operations to ensure regulatory compliance
  • prepares and maintains accurate production records, HACCP records, and mandatory federal and state reports
  • oversees preparation and service of nutritious, appealing, high quality meals
  • assures food, supplies, and equipment are adequate
  • maintains accurate and up-to-date inventory of all products
  • ensures food, supplies and equipment are received and stored according to guidelines
  • lifts and carries objects up to 45 lbs independently and over 45 lbs with assistance
