Job Requirements

  • High school graduate
  • Valid NYS driver's license (preferred)
  • Ability to move materials up to 25 lbs
  • Demonstrates appropriate work attitudes and performance behaviors
  • Experience cooking for large groups, preferred
  • Knowledge of Universal Precautions for Infection Control, HACCP, and Food Safety Standards and Procedures

Job Duties

  • Prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner entrees with minimum waste for large groups of people
  • Effectively follow and serve planned menus, ensuring all state requirements for nutrition are met
  • Have knowledge of appropriate food substitutions that meet all state requirements for nutrition
  • Maintain food inventory and rotate stock that includes refrigerated, frozen and dry goods storage and place appropriate orders with various vendors
  • Follow appropriate infection control procedures
  • Have knowledge of special dietary needs, i.e. serving entrees for diabetics
  • Effectively operate all kitchen equipment and machinery and maintain the equipment in a clean, sanitary manner
