Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods
  • Ability to follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Ability to perform manual tasks such as stocking and cleaning
  • Good attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to interact positively with co-workers and hospital staff

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience in food service or healthcare food handling preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety protocols
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to stand for extended periods during shifts

Job Duties

  • Assemble patient trays, individual portions, and food displays in a fast-paced environment
  • Stock food and supplies
  • Complete ware-washing and sanitizing of dishes, glassware, silverware, utensils, pots, and pans
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen and service work areas, serving areas, and equipment
  • Remove garbage, trash, and grease from department areas
  • Maintain sufficient stock of all necessary assigned tray line items
  • Ensure all prepared and packaged foods are labeled and dated according to food safety policies
  • Utilize FIFO process to rotate all food items and discard expired products
  • Ensure tray accuracy and timely tray service
  • Provide substitutes for missing items as directed by management
  • Monitor and record equipment or tray line areas as assigned
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and protocols including patient safety, sanitation, and operational safety
  • Complete additional duties as directed by manager or supervisor
