Job Description
Somerton Middle School's Food Service Department operates within the Somerton School District No. 11, a public education institution dedicated to providing quality educational experiences for students. Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- ability to obtain or possess Food Handler Certification
- fingerprint clearance card (IVP) required at the time of hiring
- ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- ability to work indoors in a potentially hot environment
- willingness to follow safety and sanitation procedures
- reliable attendance and punctuality
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- assists teachers with students in a lunch room setting
- assist with preparing a variety of foods to be served
- sets up serving line
- washes fruits and vegetables
- prepares food for cook
- prepares snack bars, salads and salad bars
- serves food
- cleans and maintains serving line, dining room and kitchen during and after service of food
- cleans spills during food service to ensure a safe environment
- prepares food for next meal or next day
- cleans tables and floors
- sweeps and mops floors
- takes out trash
- loads and unloads dishwasher
- puts dishes, pots and pans in appropriate places
- assists with stocking of groceries
- responsible for student supervision during lunch periods
- performs related duties as assigned
