Job Description
San Bernardino County Preschool Services Department (PSD) plays a pivotal role in delivering essential early childhood education and care to preschool-aged children throughout the county. Job Requirements
- must be able to lift objects up to 40 pounds and assist with small children as needed
- must pass pre-employment physical including tuberculosis test and required immunizations
- must obtain and maintain valid San Bernardino County Food Handler's card
- must have valid California Class C driver license and proof of automobile insurance if providing transportation
- must pass background investigation including fingerprint check and clearance through Child Abuse Index
- candidates requiring visa sponsorship are not eligible
- must be able to travel throughout San Bernardino County
- physical ability to perform duties including standing, walking, bending, and other physical activities required
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- prior experience in food service or a related field is an advantage but not required
- ability to work as part of a team
- good communication skills
- basic knowledge of food safety principles
- willingness to obtain food handler's card upon employment
Job Duties
- prepare and serve nutritious meals to preschool children
- maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and dining areas
- adhere to food safety and health regulations
- assist in receiving and storing food deliveries
- monitor food inventory and report shortages or concerns
- support preschool staff in maintaining a safe environment for children
- follow departmental policies and procedures
