- excellent customer service skills
- knowledge of food handling techniques and sanitation rules
- ability to work effectively in a team environment
- basic understanding of dietary needs and nutrition
- ability to follow instructions and maintain cleanliness standards
- prior experience in food service or healthcare food preparation is beneficial but not required
- Serve Safe Certification preferred
- HACCP preferred
Job Duties
- assist in the preparation of patient and employee meals
- distribute and serve meals during designated meal periods
- prepare and portion salads, desserts, beverages, and special patient snacks
- set up and break down cafeteria food and supplies for each meal
- serve meals from steam table throughout meal periods
- wash dishes and trays, and store them for future use
- assemble daily nourishment orders and transport them to patient areas
- maintain and clean food preparation equipment
- participate in special cleaning projects as assigned
- attend in-service training sessions on food safety and service protocols
