Job Requirements
- one year of experience performing food preparation and serving tasks
- physical ability to lift or move objects up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 45 pounds occasionally
- ability to stand and walk constantly during work hours
- willingness to work part-time (20-34.5 hours per week)
- ability to follow prescribed procedures and instructions
- availability to work in a warm and noisy environment
- flexibility to perform opening and closing duties
- willingness to wear appropriate uniform and name tag
Job Qualifications
- one year of experience in food preparation and serving
- knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
- ability to operate kitchen equipment such as grills microwaves and deep fryers
- good customer service and communication skills
- ability to stand and walk for long periods
- ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 45 pounds
- basic math skills for cash register operation
- high school education or equivalent preferred
Job Duties
- prepare fast food items including operation of grill microwave oven and deep fryer
- prepare simple salads and sandwiches
- make coffee in large urns following established procedures
- set up food service counters with condiments and stock hot and cold drink dispensers
- clean tables and keep counter equipment and appliances clean
- take orders and serve customers according to portioning requirements
- replenish supplies from designated locations
- open and close the food service location and operate a cash register
- adhere to Navy Exchange customer service standards including neat appearance and courteous interaction
- suggest substitutes and inform customers of specials
- provide prompt and friendly service ensuring food presentation is attractive
- furnish customers with receipts and thank them for patronage
