Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • must have a high school diploma or GED
  • experience with preparing, serving, storing of meals and kitchen sanitation preferred
  • able to lift and carry heavy objects and stand for prolonged periods of time
  • acceptable state/federal background checks including CORI, DCF, drug screening, psychological and medical screening
  • able to work schedule that could include evenings, holidays and weekend work times
  • authorized to work in the United States

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • experience in preparing, serving and storing meals
  • knowledge of kitchen sanitation practices
  • ability to work scheduled hours including evenings and weekends
  • ability to lift heavy objects and stand for prolonged periods
  • authorized to work in the United States

Job Duties

  • Prepare, distribute and handle meals
  • maintain and sanitize kitchen, dining room and food storage areas
  • interact respectfully with residents, families, co-workers and supervisors
  • ensure the safety and security of kitchen, dining and storage areas and equipment
  • maintain high standards of professionalism and knowledge in performance
  • follow all JRI and DYS program policies and procedures
