Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- minimum age of 18 years
- ability to stand and be on feet for extended periods
- ability to lift, bend, push, kneel, and walk
- willingness to work in a correctional facility environment

- prior institutional food service or restaurant experience preferred
- knowledge of food handling regulations

Job Duties
- Supervise inmate labor and team members in kitchen during food preparation and service shifts
- prepare, assist, or instruct inmate labor and team members in food preparation according to menus and recipes
- ensure proper and sanitary food storage
- serve food according to scheduled meal times and departmental policies
- utilize kitchen equipment and utensils to cook, prepare and serve food properly
- follow all food safety regulations regarding sanitation, food handling and storage
- train food service workers
- maintain a clean work environment including cleaning refrigerators, freezers, cooking and serving equipment
- enforce facility uniform policy
- manage garbage collection and keep kitchen floors clean
- ensure proper portions and utensils are used for service
- promote a healthy and safe work environment
- meet physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for long periods
- perform other related duties as assigned
