Job Requirements

  • Direct deposit and social security card is required
  • Meet qualification, eligibility, and background requirements for this position
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks including medical examination
  • Meet the agency's local age requirement (18 years old)
  • Ability to continually stand, walk, stoop, reach, push, pull, and bend
  • Ability to work on ladders and use powered cleaning equipment
  • Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds unassisted
  • Health assessment and physical required
  • Complete a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training within 30 days of employment and 4 hours refresher training annually
  • Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • May be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for access to federally controlled facilities

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to understand and follow simple instructions
  • Ability to use hand tools for cleaning and operating simple machines
  • Relevant experience in kitchen or dining area operations preferred
  • Strong attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and food safety
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Good physical stamina to perform physically demanding tasks
  • Resume must be two pages or less and clearly demonstrate relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and abilities

Job Duties

  • Perform a variety of kitchen and dining tasks following established procedures
  • Set up cafeteria lines, steam-tables, dining room tables, and side service stands with hot and cold food items including meats, vegetables, salads, desserts, bread, butter, and beverages
  • Replenish food items as necessary
  • Break down and clean tables and areas after meals
  • Return dishes and food to the kitchen area
  • Clean exhaust vents, hoods, windows, ceilings, and walls
  • Sanitize trash cans and dispose of trash
  • Unload and store food from delivery trucks
  • Perform other duties as assigned
