Job Requirements
- Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required
- Meet qualification, eligibility, and background requirements for this position
- A one-year probationary period may be required
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check
- Complete a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training within 30 days of employment and 4 hours refresher training annually
- Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks including a medical examination
- May be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service
- Position, duty hours, location and/or activity are subject to change based on mission requirements
- Light to heavy physical effort is required
- Frequently lifts and moves items weighing up to 40 pounds
Job Qualifications
- Resumes must be two pages or less
- Ability to understand and follow simple instructions
- Ability to use hand tools for cleaning and operating simple machines
- Relevant experience in kitchen or dining service environments preferred
- Strong attention to detail
- Good physical stamina to perform light to heavy physical tasks
Job Duties
- Perform a variety of kitchen and dining area tasks following established procedures
- Set up cafeteria lines, steam-tables, dining room tables, and side service stands with hot and cold food items including meats, vegetables, salads, desserts, bread, butter, and beverages
- Replenish food items as necessary
- Break down and clean tables and dining areas after meals
- Return dishes and food to the kitchen area
- Clean kitchen equipment such as worktables, sinks, and refrigerators
- Scrape, soak, scour, and scrub heavy cooking utensils including mixing bowls and pots
- Perform other duties as assigned
