Job Requirements

  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required
  • Meet qualification, eligibility, and background requirements for this position
  • A one-year probationary period may be required
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check
  • Complete a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training within 30 days of employment and 4 hours refresher training annually
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks including a medical examination
  • May be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service
  • Position, duty hours, location and/or activity are subject to change based on mission requirements
  • Light to heavy physical effort is required
  • Frequently lifts and moves items weighing up to 40 pounds

Job Qualifications

  • Resumes must be two pages or less
  • Ability to understand and follow simple instructions
  • Ability to use hand tools for cleaning and operating simple machines
  • Relevant experience in kitchen or dining service environments preferred
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good physical stamina to perform light to heavy physical tasks

Job Duties

  • Perform a variety of kitchen and dining area tasks following established procedures
  • Set up cafeteria lines, steam-tables, dining room tables, and side service stands with hot and cold food items including meats, vegetables, salads, desserts, bread, butter, and beverages
  • Replenish food items as necessary
  • Break down and clean tables and dining areas after meals
  • Return dishes and food to the kitchen area
  • Clean kitchen equipment such as worktables, sinks, and refrigerators
  • Scrape, soak, scour, and scrub heavy cooking utensils including mixing bowls and pots
  • Perform other duties as assigned
