Job Requirements

  • Pass a physical examination to confirm physical capabilities for essential functions
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic math
  • Six months experience in food preparation and service in an institutional or commercial setting
  • Knowledge of basic food preparation including knife skills, service, and sanitation
  • Ability to handle and lift heavy kitchen utensils and supplies (up to 40 pounds)
  • Good physical health
  • Customer service and supervisory experience preferred

  • Knowledge of basic food preparation, knife skills, service, and sanitation methods

Job Duties

  • Prepare food by following recipes and instructions
  • Follow proper food handling techniques
  • Assist in completing Serving Line Worksheets
  • Maintain clean, sanitary, safe, and secure work areas
  • Set up service and preparation areas as assigned
  • Provide high-quality customer service
  • Direct, train, and assist student employees in food preparation and service
  • Clean and replenish service, preparation, dining, dishwashing, and pot-and-pan areas during and after service
  • Complete required training
  • Perform other duties as assigned
