Job Requirements
- Partial high school education or equivalent
- six months of experience in food preparation or service
- ability to move throughout dining facilities
- ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs
- ability to perform light cleaning duties in various areas
- self-movement and positioning to perform tasks
- ability to reach materials on shelving units
- potential to transport and stock supplies and materials
- willingness to follow safety and sanitary procedures
- ability to work under general supervision

- Ability to understand and follow instructions generally acquired through partial high school education
- six months of experience in food preparation or service
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices

Job Duties
- Assist in preparing foods such as meats, vegetables, baked goods, and desserts
- prepare beverages, salads, dressings, sandwiches, and cold plates
- prepare portioned and fast foods on grill, broiler, or deep fat fryer as appropriate
- operate point-of-sale cash register to calculate total cost and accept payments
- perform clerical duties in food services offices
- provide customer service
- operate food production equipment such as slicers, choppers, dicers, mixers, vertical cutters, and patty making machines
- transport food or supplies to serving areas and ensure proper setup
- assemble and replenish food, supplies, and equipment
- ensure proper temperature of food in steam tables and correct counter display
- take orders, portion, and serve food to customers
- record portions served
- remove, cover, wrap, label, store, rotate, and discard food and condiments as directed
- clear soiled dishes and refuse from dining halls
- scrape refuse into garbage containers
- load trays and soiled dishes on conveyors, racks, and carts
- dispose of trash
- set up and operate dish machines
- clean assigned areas following sanitary procedures including equipment, counters, tables, chairs, refrigerators, utensils, and dispensers
- sweep and mop floors
- vacuum carpets
- maintain supplies and materials
- report equipment malfunctions and repair needs
- assist in monitoring work and training employees in proper techniques and use of supplies and equipment
- perform other related duties as assigned
