Job Description

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to obtain Food Handler's permit if not already possessed
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, reach, and lift moderately heavy items up to 50 lbs
  • Age 19 or older preferred
  • Ability to follow safety and sanitation protocols
  • Good communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Food handler's permit or ability to obtain while working
  • Experience in food preparation or cooking preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Ability to follow recipes and food preparation instructions
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Physical ability to perform duties including lifting up to 50 lbs

Job Duties

  • Cooks, bakes, or serves regular and/or special meals to clients and/or staff
  • Ensures that food is maintained at appropriate temperatures
  • Prepares salads and garnishes and assists in basic food preparation or ordering
  • Distributes food using appropriate food handling and sanitation techniques
  • Practices of food safety and public health protection
  • Maintains inventory
  • Tracks receipts
  • Cleans, sterilizes and or disinfects areas and/or equipment
  • Uses cleaning agents, products and equipment
