Job Requirements
- must be at least 18 years of age
- twelve months of experience in food service work required
- must possess or obtain food safety certification within six months of employment
- must pass fingerprint criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen
- must pass registry checks including client abuse/neglect
- must comply with immunization policies
- must have valid Texas driver license if driving required or obtain within 90 days
- males 18-25 must be registered with Selective Service
- flexibility to work overtime or extended hours
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- twelve months of experience in food service work required
- ability to prepare and serve food
- knowledge of food preparation methods and sanitation regulations
- skills in operating and sanitizing food service equipment
- ability to follow written and oral instructions
- ability to maintain accurate records
- ability to communicate in English
- ability to work harmoniously with coworkers and patients
Job Duties
- attends work on a regular basis and may work specific or rotating shifts with possible overtime
- assists in preparation and portioning of food for special diets following procedures
- prepares scheduled snacks and maintains snack supply
- participates in distribution of food safely and sanitarily
- assists in serving food following food service procedures
- follows proper food handling according to guidelines
- receives delivery of food and supplies
- prepares necessary paperwork accurately and timely
- follows sanitation and storage procedures for dishes and equipment
- follows required cleaning procedures for kitchen and food prep areas
- observes safety procedures and practices
- trains or assists new kitchen employees
- participates in disaster response or COOP activation duties
