Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Twelve months of food service experience
- Ability to obtain food safety certification within first six months of employment
- Pass fingerprint criminal background check
- Pass pre-employment drug screen
- Pass registry checks including CANRS, Nurse Aid, Medication Aide and Employee Misconduct
- Compliance with immunization policies
- Valid Texas driver license or obtain within 90 days if driving is required
- Able to work a rotating schedule and overtime
- Be eligible to work in the United States
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Twelve months of experience in food service work
- Knowledge of food preparation methods
- Knowledge of food storage standards and sanitation regulations
- Ability to operate and sanitize food service equipment
- Ability to prepare and serve food
- Ability to maintain accurate records
- Ability to speak and read English
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions
- Basic math skills used in cooking and preparation
Job Duties
- Attend work regularly and work assigned shifts including rotating schedules, extended shifts, or overtime as needed
- Assist in the preparation and portioning of food for special diets following food service procedures
- Prepare scheduled snacks and supplements and maintain supply
- Distribute food safely and sanitarily according to food service policies
- Serve food by following food service procedures
- Follow proper food handling in accordance with state, federal and HACCP guidelines
- Receive deliveries and prepare necessary paperwork accurately and timely
- Clean and sanitize kitchen, stock room, food prep areas, dishes, utensils, pots and pans
- Train or assist in training new food service staff
- Participate in disaster response or COOP activation as required
