Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Twelve months of food service experience
- Willingness to obtain food safety certification within six months
- Ability to follow safety and sanitation procedures
- Ability to work various shifts including overtime
- Pass fingerprint criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen
- Comply with immunization policies
- Possess or obtain valid Texas driver license if driving is required
- Must provide certified driving record if out-of-state driver license
- Male applicants aged 18-25 must be registered with Selective Service
Job Qualifications
- Twelve months of experience in food service work
- Ability to speak and read English
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions
- Ability to complete basic math common to cooking and food preparation
- Ability to work cooperatively with coworkers and patients
- Knowledge of food preparation methods
- Knowledge of food storage standards and sanitation regulations
- Skills in operating and sanitizing food service equipment
- Must obtain food safety certification within first six months of employment
Job Duties
- Prepare, portion, and distribute food for regular and therapeutic diets
- Sanitize kitchen equipment, dishes, utensils, pots, and pans
- Follow federal, state, and HACCP food safety guidelines
- Receive deliveries of food and supplies
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and food preparation areas
- Assist and train new food service workers
- Participate in disaster response and COOP activation as needed
