Job Requirements

  • hs diploma or equivalent education/experience
  • basic food production and food service knowledge
  • ability to use food service equipment and supplies
  • knowledge of maintaining a safe food environment including cleaning procedures
  • ability to read, write, and speak English
  • ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • sufficient mathematical ability
  • ability to meet deadlines and multitask
  • strong customer service skills
  • uphold patient protected health information privacy

Job Qualifications

  • ability to use various food service supplies and equipment
  • knowledge of safe food environment practices and cleaning procedures

  • sufficient math ability for measurement and portioning

  • understanding of patient privacy and PHI regulations

Job Duties

  • perform general kitchen duties including food preparation and storage
  • clean and store dishes, utensils, and pots
  • maintain general department sanitation
  • follow department policies and recipes accurately
  • prepare and serve snacks and meals to patients and visitors
  • assist in tray line, cafeteria, dish room, host/hostess, or catering functions
  • communicate effectively with peers and supervisors
