Job Description
The Santa Maria-Bonita School District is the largest school district in Santa Barbara County, serving approximately 17,500 students from pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade. Job Requirements
- Graduation from high school or equivalent
- Valid California driver’s license for assignments requiring driving
- Insurability by the district's liability insurance carrier
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull moderately heavy objects
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Good manual dexterity and physical stamina
- Understanding of safety and sanitation standards
- Proof of high school graduation
- Current DMV printout if applicable

Job Qualifications
- Graduation from high school or equivalent
- Sufficient training and experience to demonstrate knowledge of basic food preparation and serving methods
- Ability to operate standard food service equipment
- Basic arithmetic and simple recordkeeping skills

- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a team environment
Job Duties
- Clean serving counters, tables, chairs, and food containers
- Operate dishwasher and wash trays, plates, utensils, and other serving equipment
- Assist in setting up food preparation lines
- Heat, set up, sell, and serve food to students and faculty
- Assist in preparation of food including sandwiches, salads, dressings, fruits, and vegetables
- Receive, load, unload, and store foodstuffs, rotate stock, supplies, and materials
- Clean and store kitchen equipment
- Serve as meal checker as assigned
- Supervise children in cafeteria as assigned
- Perform basic recordkeeping activities as assigned
- Perform related duties as assigned
