Job Requirements

  • Partial high school education or equivalent
  • no experience required beyond education or training
  • ability to lift and move heavy materials up to 50 lbs
  • ability to read and follow instructions
  • capability to perform cleaning duties including mopping and sweeping
  • physical ability to move throughout dining facilities
  • willingness to operate dish washing machinery

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to understand and follow instructions generally acquired through partial high school education
  • no prior experience required beyond education
  • ability to perform physical tasks such as moving and lifting up to 50 lbs
  • basic knowledge of food service operations preferred but not required
  • strong attention to detail and ability to follow sanitary procedures
  • ability to work under immediate supervision with detailed instructions
  • good communication and teamwork skills

Job Duties

  • Assist in the preparation of foods such as meats, vegetables, baked goods and desserts
  • prepare foods to include beverages, salads, dressings, sandwiches, and cold plates
  • operate food production equipment including slicers, choppers, dicers, mixers, vertical cutters, patty making machines, and other processing equipment
  • transport food or supplies to serving areas
  • ensure proper setup and assembly of food, supplies, and equipment
  • maintain correct temperature and display of food
  • serve food to customers and record portions served
  • remove, cover, wrap, label, store, rotate, and discard food and condiments as directed
  • clean assigned areas following sanitary procedures
  • sweep, mop floors, vacuum rugs and carpets
  • clear soiled dishes and refuse from tables
  • load trays and soiled dishes onto conveyors, racks, and carts
  • remove and dispose of trash
  • set up and operate dish machine to clean dishes and utensils
  • sort and inspect cleaned items
  • maintain sufficient stock and supplies
  • unload, unpack, receive, issue, and transport materials
  • verify quantity of received goods and notify supervisor of discrepancies
  • stock supplies and equipment
  • assemble supplies and deliver using hand truck as needed
  • report needed items for reorder
  • perform other related duties incidental to work described
