Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read, write and follow instructions
  • Basic math skills
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for extended periods
  • Must be able to bend and stoop, sort and pick up repetitively dishes and silverware
  • Must be able to lift 35 lbs on an intermittent basis
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment
  • One year of related experience and/or training in a hospital or commercial kitchen preferred

Job Duties

  • Identifies and assists in resolution of problems related to safety, sanitation and maintenance of the environment
  • Maintains confidentiality consistent with hospital policy and regulatory requirements

  • Delivers meals, supplies, and equipment to other departments of the hospital
  • Prepares the dish room for washing service ware
  • Prepares noon and evening beverage production
  • Assembles all items needed to run breakfast and lunch trayline
  • Serves patient breakfast and lunch meals
  • Cleans tray line work station after meals served
  • Retrieves patient meal carts, disassembles, washes dishes, and restocks
  • Prepares patient nourishment carts
  • Assists #3 position by cutting and packaging desserts
  • Completes shift end cleaning assignments, checks out with supervisor
