Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read, write and follow instructions
- Basic math skills
- Must be able to stand and/or walk for extended periods
- Must be able to bend and stoop, sort and pick up repetitively dishes and silverware
- Must be able to lift 35 lbs on an intermittent basis
- Able to work in a fast paced environment
- One year of related experience and/or training in a hospital or commercial kitchen preferred

Job Duties
- Maintains knowledge to perform the duties of the job

- Practices effective communication in all interactions including patient, visitor, and co-worker

- Identifies and assists in resolution of problems related to safety, sanitation and maintenance of the environment
- Maintains confidentiality consistent with hospital policy and regulatory requirements
- Promotes a positive work environment by demonstrating teamwork
- Delivers meals, supplies, and equipment to other departments of the hospital
- Prepares the dish room for washing service ware
- Prepares noon and evening beverage production
- Assembles all items needed to run breakfast and lunch trayline
- Serves patient breakfast and lunch meals
- Cleans tray line work station after meals served
- Retrieves patient meal carts, disassembles, washes dishes, and restocks
- Prepares patient nourishment carts
- Assists #3 position by cutting and packaging desserts
- Completes shift end cleaning assignments, checks out with supervisor
