Job Requirements
- Food Handlers Card within 30 days
- availability to work varied shifts including weekdays, holidays, early mornings, and late evenings
- no prior experience required
- ability to meet training and safety expectations
- must satisfy security requirements related to critical infrastructure
- ability to move between locations or shifts as operational needs change
Job Qualifications
- Successful completion of the MD Anderson apprenticeship program or 9 months completion of the program can be substituted for a maximum of 1 year of experience
- positive attitude
- strong time management skills
- commitment to teamwork
- ability to follow written instructions and work effectively in a team environment
Job Duties
- Perform simple food preparation by following established written recipes
- provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and colleagues
- clean and sanitize surfaces including floors, drains, and walls
- follow established cleaning and sanitizing procedures
- clean and sanitize equipment and smallware using approved procedures
- safely handle chemicals and operate a three-compartment sink
- properly store all equipment, chemicals, and utensils
- operate dish and pot washing machines according to proper procedures
- dispose of trash and operate trash compactors following established guidelines
- perform other duties as assigned
- move to new locations or shifts as operational needs dictate
- participate in cross-training, which may include shift changes
