Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Follows job outline of assigned position
  • answers phones and takes diet changes and requests for late trays
  • sets up trays with utensils, condiments and diet cards
  • sets out food requested by cook
  • assists with food storage of arriving and leftover items
  • operates all kitchen equipment following prescribed procedures
  • takes temperatures and ensures all logs are filled out daily
  • uses correct ergonomics with all dietary equipment
  • assists with food preparation as directed
  • serves correct portion sizes according to menu
  • performs daily cleaning assignments according to cleaning chart
  • monitors food in danger zone (not over 4 hours)
  • uses sanitary food practices
  • assists other workers as needed
  • serves on tray line
  • trains new employees
  • checks in deliveries
  • performs other duties assigned by supervising staff
  • attends in-service training programs and departmental meetings
  • complies with departmental standards for dress, personal hygiene and safety policies
