Job Requirements

  • None required as on the job training is provided
  • Ability to comply with all required education and competency assessments within two months of hire
  • Must be able to meet regular and sustained attendance requirements
  • Willingness to work beyond a standard 40-hour workweek including weekends and after-hours shifts
  • Ability to respond promptly to on-call duties as needed
  • Physical ability to perform tasks including lifting up to 30 pounds, standing, walking, climbing, twisting, bending, and fine finger movements
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise tact and sensitivity
  • Willingness to work in environments with potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens, chemicals, radiation, and infectious diseases

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • ServSafe certification preferred
  • Prior work experience in food services preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to learn and operate food production equipment
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Demonstrated good judgment, discretion, and professionalism
  • Ability to work effectively in a busy, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize multiple tasks

Job Duties

  • Prepares and serves patient meals according to therapeutic diet orders and safety modifications
  • Records patient intake information accurately per established procedures
  • Assembles, serves, delivers, and retrieves patient meals
  • Processes and delivers floor stock orders throughout the organization
  • Participates in dish room operations including cleaning and sanitizing
  • Maintains sanitation and hygiene standards for workstations, dishes, utensils, and equipment
  • Collaborates with Nutrition Services team to coordinate food preparation and delivery
  • Supports training and performs additional duties as assigned to meet patient and department needs
