Veterans Canteen Service (VCS) is a well-established program office within the Veterans Health Administration (VHA), dedicated to serving the unique needs of America's Veterans, their families, caregivers, and VA employees. Job Requirements
- A current, valid REAL ID is required to work at Veterans Canteen Service
- Ability to read instructions and perform basic math for food preparation
- Requires constant standing, walking, and frequent bending
- Must be able to lift or move objects weighing up to 40 pounds unassisted
- Minimum of one year of experience in the food service industry is preferred but not necessary
- Excellent customer service skills

Job Duties
- Prepare a variety of beverages including coffee, latte, cappuccino, and smoothies
- Prepare and assemble assorted food items such as breakfast sandwiches, lunch sandwiches, wraps, pancakes, and burritos
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workplace, equipment, and utensils in compliance with health and safety standards
- Properly store food to maintain freshness and prevent spoilage
- Prepare foods according to customers' orders or supervisors' instructions following approved procedures
- Work in varying temperatures including hot and cold environments
- Perform other duties as assigned
