Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- prior food service experience helpful but not required
- ability to follow health and safety standards
- ability to work flexible hours including possible weekends
- physical ability to handle lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- willingness to wear uniforms and personal protective equipment
- effective communication skills
Job Qualifications
- Food service certificate as needed
- sufficient education or training to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions
- ability to work quickly and concisely under pressure
Job Duties
- Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
- prepare daily reports verifying transactions
- understand meal components
- ensure accurate and sanitary food storage
- serve food according to schedules and policies
- use and care for kitchen equipment especially knives
- prepare various food items and beverages timely
- add garnishments for customer satisfaction
- assist in cleaning refrigerators, freezers, and equipment
- adhere to food safety regulations
- follow uniform policy
- communicate daily with manager on menu preparation
- supervise food temperature requirements
- maintain clean and organized work and storage areas
- scrub and polish counters and sanitize equipment
- follow cleanliness procedures including sweeping, mopping, and ware washing
- keep garbage collection and kitchen floor neat and sanitary
- perform other kitchen duties as assigned
- comply with physical demands including lifting, bending, and standing
- use personal protective equipment as required
