Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous food service experience preferred
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and carry objects up to 45 pounds independently and heavier with assistance
  • Ability to follow safety and sanitation protocols
  • Ability to communicate courteously and effectively
  • Must register with Selective Service if applicable
  • Must pass National Agency Check and Inquiries (NACI) background check
  • Must comply with drug-free workplace policy
  • Ability to use cash register and handle money
  • Eligible to work at Marine Corps Base Hawaii - Camp Smith

Job Qualifications

  • Skill to perform tasks with several steps and use judgment in sequential tasks
  • Ability to concentrate and serve uniform individual portions amid distractions
  • Basic arithmetic and ability to read instructions
  • Working knowledge of sanitation procedures
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions while meeting standards of sanitation, attractiveness, timeliness, safety, and service
  • Ability to work under periodic supervision
  • Capability to frequently stand and walk
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 45 pounds independently
  • Ability to work in warm, noisy, and potentially hazardous environments

Job Duties

  • Set up food service counters and dining areas with hot and cold food items
  • Serve food cafeteria-style and family-style to diners
  • Make coffee and specialty coffee drinks using barista equipment
  • Prepare a variety of fruit and vegetable salads
  • Serve food in standard portions
  • Make cold or hot sandwiches
  • Pack box lunches
  • Maintain dishwasher cleanliness and proper operation
  • Ensure dining room cleanliness
  • Unload food deliveries and move heavy garbage cans
  • Operate cash register and manage change fund
  • Stock merchandise refrigerators and freezers
  • Provide world class customer service with emphasis on courtesy
  • Assist customers and communicate positively
  • Solve problems quickly or report to supervisors
  • Adhere to safety regulations and report hazards
  • Support principles of equal employment opportunity and prevent harassment
  • Perform other related duties as required
