Job Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to suitability or fitness determination based on background investigation
- position designated as Mission Essential requiring continuity of operations during all-hazard emergency situations
- successful completion of pre-placement and annual medical examinations
- shift work including fluctuating tours covering early morning, evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts
- possible overtime work
- mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination
- ability to lift and move up to 45 pounds
- one year probationary period may be required

Job Qualifications
- Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision
- ability to interpret instructions and specifications other than blueprint reading
- ability to use and maintain tools and equipment

- technical practices including theoretical, precise, and artistic
- work practices including keeping things neat, clean, and in order
- demonstrate sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform tasks such as plating food items and performing various cleaning tasks as assigned
Job Duties
- Perform the complete cycle of centralized patient room service functions
- assemble and portion assigned tray items including prepared main course, hot side items, condiments, salads, desserts in accordance with patient diet orders
- transport food carts to wards and deliver trays directly to patients according to established scripts and standard operating procedures
- take food temperatures to ensure hot and cold foods are maintained at proper temperatures
- rotate foods on first in, first out cycle to prevent spoilage
- clean equipment and work area including mopping, sweeping, cleaning dishes, disposing of food waste, and cleaning patient transport carts
