Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Previous experience with cooking and food preparation or serving preferred
- Interest and enthusiasm in preparing nutritious meals
- Ability to prepare food following standardized recipes
- Knowledge of safety and sanitation procedures
- Ability to keep a neat and clean appearance
- Basic math skills
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and write simple correspondence
- Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors
- Willingness to participate in training as required
Job Qualifications

- Ability to prepare food according to standardized recipes

- Basic math skills for measuring and recipe conversion
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence

- Effective communication in one-on-one and small group situations
Job Duties
- Communicates, collaborates, and cooperates with colleagues, supervisors, and students
- Prepare various food items including condiments, salad bar items, baking, main entrees, vegetables, gravies, sauces, and soups
- Set up the serving line and/or salad bar
- Load and unload transport boxes
- Clean, sanitize, and reload transport boxes with pans
- Restock salad bar, condiments, juices, and flatware
- Assist in putting away deliveries and properly storing food including labeling and dating
- Place orders for ice cream and milk
- Help train new employees
- Work effectively and efficiently
- Complete all tasks assigned by the kitchen manager
- Participate in mandatory training
- Clean and sanitize work area and kitchen equipment
