Job Requirements

  • basic knowledge of English to read and follow instructions
  • at least one year of food service or customer service experience required
  • high school degree or equivalent preferred
  • Food Safety Manager or Serv-Safe certification highly desirable
  • ability to perform moderately heavy lifting (20-40 lbs)
  • ability to stand, walk, and perform physical movements for prolonged periods
  • effective speech, sight, and hearing to communicate by various means

Job Qualifications

  • basic ability to read English and follow oral or written instructions
  • food safety manager or Serv-Safe certification highly desirable
  • ability to operate food service equipment
  • effective communication skills

Job Duties

  • assist in the preparation of foods such as meats, vegetables, baked goods, and desserts
  • prepare foods including beverages, salads, dressings, sandwiches, and cold plates
  • operate food service equipment including slicers, mixers, vertical cutters, choppers, Robot Coupe, blender, dish machine, and other specialized equipment
  • transport food or supplies to designated areas
  • deliver and retrieve patient meal trays following proper procedures
  • assemble and replenish food, supplies, and equipment
  • ensure proper temperature maintenance of food in steam tables, refrigerators, and cold tables
  • read orders and serve proper portions
  • remove, cover, wrap, label, date, store, rotate, and discard food and condiments per policy
  • clean assigned areas following sanitary procedures
  • sweep and mop floors
  • clean soiled dishes and operate dish machines
  • sort refuse into garbage or compost containers
  • maintain stock and supplies
  • unload and stock incoming supplies and equipment
  • perform other duties as assigned
