Job Requirements
- U.S. citizenship
- Suitable for federal employment determined by background investigation
- Pass urine drug screening for illegal drugs
- Selective Service registration required for males born after 12/31/1959
- Completion of online onboarding process including acceptable identification
- Completion of all application requirements
- Ability to serve a one-year probationary period
- Physical ability to perform moderate to heavy physical work such as standing, walking, lifting up to 40 pounds with assistance

- Understanding of work practices related to food service
- Experience in similar food service environment preferred but not required
Job Duties
- Clean serving areas by sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning/sanitizing work surfaces and other food service equipment such as refrigerators, toaster, and coffee machines
- Clean production equipment including steam jacketed kettles, tilt skillets using appropriate and safe sanitation techniques
- Load and operate dishwashers and cart washing station
- Perform necessary preventative maintenance on equipment
- Transport tray carts to wards and individually deliver trays directly to the patient’s bedside or assist patients with transport of their meal trays
- Set-up serving areas with hot and cold foods, keeping foods appropriately stocked during meal service
- Identify discrepancies between the prescribed diet and/or listed food allergies and the food items listed on the tray ticket
- Assemble a variety of items while working in cold food preparation and nourishment area
- Make cold sandwiches using prepared ingredients
- Perform other duties as assigned
