Job Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, and speak fluently in English
  • Multnomah County Food Handler’s Card within one week of hire

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to read, write, and speak fluently in English
  • Multnomah County Food Handler’s Card within one week of hire
  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • six months customer service experience in a fast-paced hospital food service environment preferred

Job Duties

  • Sets up station with standard items and assembles trays according to tray diagrams
  • monitors temperatures for entrees, cold items, and soups and uses proper portion control
  • runs dishes through dish machine, washes pots and pans, cleans dish machine, and maintains dish room cleanliness
  • loads meal carts, assures trays are complete, delivers meal carts including late trays and nourishments to nursing units
  • picks up dirty trays in carts and service ware from floors and kitchens
  • follows food safety and sanitation policies, uses gloves and chemicals properly, sanitizes work surfaces and utensils
  • participates in recycling and composting programs
  • prevents waste using first-in, first-out inventory and portion control
  • interacts positively with patients and guests in a customer service role
  • performs other duties as assigned
