Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in food service or hospitality preferred
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts including early mornings and every other weekend
  • Adherence to food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Willingness to follow hospital policies and procedures
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Job Qualifications

  • Successful completion of site personnel general orientation
  • Successful completion of department-specific orientation
  • Must meet requirements of ADA standards
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends
  • Strong communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of food safety practices

Job Duties

  • Perform routine tasks in cafeteria, kitchen, tray line, dish and pot washing areas as needed
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory or accrediting agency standards such as JCAHO, DOH, OSHA and SBHCS
  • Maintain food preparation policies and procedures to serve high-quality, nutritional meals
  • Stock cafeteria with hot and cold foods, baked goods, beverages, desserts and condiments
  • Set up menu boards and inform customers of menu items and prices
  • Work register and assist customers efficiently while addressing their concerns
  • Clean and sanitize work areas and equipment following safety and sanitation guidelines
