Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in food service or hospitality preferred
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including early mornings and every other weekend
- Adherence to food safety and sanitation regulations
- Willingness to follow hospital policies and procedures
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Job Qualifications
- Successful completion of site personnel general orientation
- Successful completion of department-specific orientation
- Must meet requirements of ADA standards
- Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends
- Strong communication skills
- Basic knowledge of food safety practices
Job Duties
- Perform routine tasks in cafeteria, kitchen, tray line, dish and pot washing areas as needed
- Ensure compliance with regulatory or accrediting agency standards such as JCAHO, DOH, OSHA and SBHCS
- Maintain food preparation policies and procedures to serve high-quality, nutritional meals
- Stock cafeteria with hot and cold foods, baked goods, beverages, desserts and condiments
- Set up menu boards and inform customers of menu items and prices
- Work register and assist customers efficiently while addressing their concerns
- Clean and sanitize work areas and equipment following safety and sanitation guidelines
