- U.S. citizenship
- suitability for federal employment determined by background investigation
- pass urinalysis drug test prior to appointment

Job Duties
- Clean serving areas by sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning and sanitizing work surfaces, and other food service equipment such as refrigerators, toaster, and coffee machines
- Clean production equipment including steam jacketed kettles and tilt skillets using appropriate sanitation techniques
- Load and operate dishwashers and cart washing stations
- Perform necessary preventative maintenance on equipment
- Transport tray carts to wards and deliver trays directly to patients or assist patients with meal tray transport
- Set up serving areas with hot and cold foods, keeping foods stocked during service
- Identify discrepancies between prescribed diets, allergies, and tray tickets
- Assemble items in cold food preparation and nourishment areas
- Make cold sandwiches using prepared ingredients
- Perform other assigned duties
