This job opportunity is with the Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) stationed at the Bowling Alley on McConnell Air Force Base (AFB) in Kansas. McConnell AFB is a critical installation that supports the United States Air Force and Space Force by providing essential services and recreational activities to military personnel and their families. Job Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen, National or owe allegiance to the U.S.
- must be able to complete a background investigation with favorable results
- must be able to obtain a Food Handler’s Certificate and/or complete food handler’s training
- must complete a pre-employment physical examination
- must be able to frequently lift or move objects weighing up to 20 pounds and occasionally more with assistance
- must be able to continuously stand, walk, stoop, reach, push and bend for long periods
- must be able to follow written and oral instructions
- must be able to meet qualification, eligibility and background requirements
- must be registered for Selective Service if required
- must be able to provide a REAL ID or authorized source identity documents for installation access
- must be committed to improving federal government efficiency and uphold U.S. laws
- must be able to apply via online system and submit required documents
- must comply with employment verification checks
- must be willing to work intermittent permanent schedule at McConnell AFB
- must accept direct deposit for pay

Job Qualifications
- Ability to read and understand written and oral instructions
- simple manual skills for moving carts and operating kitchen equipment
- knowledge of food handling techniques to meet sanitation and safety standards
- ability to lift or move objects up to 20 pounds frequently and sometimes over 20 pounds with assistance
- ability to stand, walk, stoop, reach, push and bend continuously
- ability to follow simple oral instructions
- ability to use hand tools for cleaning and operating simple machines
- ability to meet qualification, eligibility, and background requirements
- ability to provide Required documentation such as a resume
- some education substitution allowed

Job Duties
- Sets up glasses, silverware, dishes, trays, napkins, condiments and cold menu items on serving line
- removes dishes and trays from tables
- prepares food and assists snack bar personnel during busy periods
- operates, breaks down and cleans electrical equipment for food preparation
- cleans kitchen equipment such as worktables, sinks and refrigerators
- sorts food waste and trash from dishes, glasses and silverware
- loads and operates dishwashers
- stores clean dishes, glasses and silverware
- washes tables and counters
- vacuums and shampoos carpets
- sweeps and mops kitchen floors
- cleans windows, walls and sanitizes trashcans
- sorts, washes, peels and cuts fresh fruits and vegetables
- assists customer service desk by assigning lanes, operating control console and renting shoes
- opens and closes facility
- assists in ensuring daily deposits and prepares accounting documents
