Job Requirements

  • able to read and write standard English
  • ability to perform basic arithmetic
  • ability to follow instructions and work independently
  • must have knowledge of basic culinary techniques and procedures inclusive of basic recipes and equipment use
  • ability to work in a standing, kneeling, or squatting position for extended periods
  • ability to bend, stretch, walk, stoop, and reach repetitively
  • ability to work in various environments including hot, cold, and/or wet areas
  • ability to lift up to 40 pounds, push or pull carts or equipment weighing up to 350 pounds
  • ability to adhere to uniform or dress code standards
  • ability to work in a non-smoking environment
  • ability to follow safety procedures and guidelines for cleaning and maintenance tasks
  • must maintain good personal hygiene and a clean, professional appearance
  • ability to adjust to fluctuating workload demands and prioritize tasks effectively
  • strong interpersonal skills to interact with co-workers, supervisors, and other staff members in a respectful and cooperative manner

  • assemble meal trays for patients, staff, and visitors
  • deliver meals to designated locations promptly
  • maintain cleanliness and sanitation of food preparation and service areas
  • follow infection control and safety protocols
  • operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
  • assist with inventory management and stock replenishment
