- Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience preferred

Job Duties
- Supervise inmate labor and/or team members in the kitchen during food preparation and food service shifts
- Prepare, assist, or instruct inmate labor and/or team members in the preparation of food according to menu and recipes
- Ensure all food is stored properly and in a sanitary manner
- Serve food during planned meal schedules and follow department policies
- Utilize kitchen utensils and equipment to cook, prepare, and serve food
- Follow all food safety regulations related to sanitation, food handling, and storage
- Train other food service workers
- Maintain a clean work environment including cleaning refrigerators, freezers, cooking equipment, and serving tools
- Follow facility uniform policy
- Manage garbage collection and keep kitchen floors clean
- Prepare the kitchen environment for food service including sweeping, mopping, and dishwashing
- Review proper portions and utensils for food service
- Promote a healthy and safe work environment
- Perform physical duties such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods
- Be on feet for much of the scheduled shift
- Perform other related duties as assigned
