Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Food Handlers Certification for the State of Texas
- Certified through the Texas Association for School Nutrition preferred
- Meet or exceed six hours of annual training requirements
- Experience in institutional food service operations
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to maintain emotional control under stress
- Ability to work with frequent interruptions
- Ability to use kitchen equipment and handle cleaning chemicals safely
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Food Handlers Certification for the State of Texas required
- Certification through Texas Association for School Nutrition preferred
- Meet or exceed six hours of annual training for School Nutrition Programs
- Experience in institutional food service operations, preferably K-12
- Ability to read and follow production records and recipes
- Basic math skills for recipe conversions
- Knowledge of HACCP sanitation and safety practices
- Ability to operate large and small kitchen equipment
- Strong personal work ethic with punctuality and reliability
Job Duties
- Assist in preparation, service and clean up of food to meet menu requirements
- Maintain high standards in food production, sanitation and safety practices
- Follow production records and recipes accurately
- Adhere to federal, state and local policies and regulations
- Maintain clean and organized workspaces
- Support daily operations scheduling and ensure meal components meet USDA and TDA standards
- Assist with receiving, inspecting and storing food products properly
